Cable Protection & Stabilization
Tekmar Group provides a range of subsea protection and stability technology that maintains the integrity of power cables used in floating wind applications. This includes protection systems that secure, protect and control the movement and bending of cables in the dynamic zone, (Bend Restrictors, Bend Stiffeners, and TekDuct), and systems that provide on seabed stability, impact protection and limit seabed migration and scour (Ballast Modules, Concrete Mattresses, and Rock Bags)
Bend Stiffeners
Bend Stiffeners are designed to mitigate the overbending of cables during installation and operation by providing additional stiffness to control the minimum bend radius of the cable.
Split Pipe
Split Pipe provides mechanical lock out protection to protect the minimum bend radius of cables, as well as providing dropped object protection and excellent on seabed stability. They are typically constructed from spheroidal graphite cast iron.
Cable Hang-offs
Hang-off clamps mechanically secure the cable at the top-side of foundation structures ahead of electrical termination.
Cable Buoyancy
Floating Offshore Wind Cable Buoyancy provides distributed buoyancy for cables used in floating wind applications. This buoyancy can reduce top tension loads, as well as support compliance in the cable during movement of the floating platform.
Bend Restrictors
Bend Restrictors are typically polyurethane components designed to limit the bend radius of cables by mechanical means during installation and operation.
TekDuct
TekDuct is a polyurethane abrasion and impact protection system for power cables which can also be used to provide additional ballast and on seabed stability, as well as protection for bundled cables.
J-Tube Seals
J-Tube Seals are a pressure retaining cable centralisers. They provide a long-term barrier that prohibits corrosion by preventing oxygenated seawater from entering the J-Tube and can retain a corrosion inhibitor.
Ballast Modules
Ballast Modules are designed to provide additional on seabed stability to cables to ensure they are stable on the sea floor. They are typically constructed from spheroidal coast iron.
Piggy Back Blocks
Piggy Back Blocks offer a quick method of attaching a secondary product to a cable or fixed structure. They can be used for retro-fit applications.
Concrete Mattresses
Tekmar Group supply a wide range of concrete mattresses that provide on seabed stability and impact protection for cables, as well as limiting seabed migration and scour around on seabed assets.
Concrete Structures
Tekmar Group supplies a wide range of bespoke concrete structures including impact protection covers, concrete bridges, turning bollards, clump weights and anchor blocks.
Precise Rock Placement (PRP) Units
PRP units are a cost-effective alternative to rock placement, providing on seabed stability, impact protection and to limit seabed migration and scour.
