Anchor Recovery Spool
The DeepWater Buoyancy Anchor Recovery Spool (ARS) is a rugged syntactic-foam recovery device designed to float an acoustic release and recovery line to the surface after activation. It provides dependable retrieval of anchors or other subsea structures in both inline mooring systems and standalone recovery operations.
Once activated by the acoustic release, the ARS rises to the surface while paying out its recovery line. After the ARS is retrieved, the remaining line can be used to lift the anchor, enabling full anchor recovery even in the event of a mooring-line failure above the release.
Key Drivers for Seafloor Anchor Recovery
- Prevention of marine debris
- Protection of sensitive ecosystems
- Compliance with permitting requirements
The ARS assembly features a durable DeepTec® syntactic-foam body and an integrated clamp system compatible with a wide range of acoustic releases. It can be configured for various release models and supplied with multiple options for line length and diameter to meet project-specific needs. The ARS may be delivered with recovery line installed, or it can be configured to accommodate customer-provided line.
A turntable kit is also available to assist with efficient line loading onto the spool.
For sizing and configuration, contact DeepWater Buoyancy with project specifications, including water depth, anchor weight, and the make and model of your acoustic release.
